SmogCheckCost answers one question well: what a California smog check costs — the inspection fee, the state certificate fee, and why prices vary between stations. It is published under the Cal Auto Doors label and operated by Cal Smog Network, a California smog check station network.
Every answer on this site is rendered verbatim from the Cal Smog Network canonical answer library, verified against public program sources — the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (bar.ca.gov), the California DMV (dmv.ca.gov), and the California Air Resources Board (arb.ca.gov). The library is re-verified when the Bureau changes program rules; a fix is made once, in the library, then republished to every surface including this one.
Deal prices shown here are locked coupon rates published by each participating network station — the price you see is the price honored at the counter. The state certificate fee is set by the state and is always separate. This site never invents a price; station pricing lives with the station.
